Cómo la tecnología puede cambiar nuestros hogares en un futuro.

How technology can change our homes in the future.

Technology is transforming homes around the world. When it started, it was arguably a novelty, and to be fair, the limitations of early smart devices make this claim understandable.

Now, however, although the smart devices They are still far from perfect, they generally deserve that name and are getting better and more useful.

We can see how digital creations and simple things can improve aspects of daily life in the home. Definitely, new ways of life .

What is SPACE10?

SPACE10 is a research and design laboratory in Copenhagen with the mission of creating a better everyday life for people and the planet.

A group of young people selected by the Swedish multinational decoration company IKEA, is dedicated to finding new ideas on which to develop new prototypes and articles. In short, they study what is outside the commercial environment to create, through their work, a way of life more sustainable and of higher quality .

One of his digital experiments is Everyday Experiments where they challenge the role of technology in the home and study how it can help us and to what extent we can have fun with it.

Or what is equivalent: take the everyday and make it extraordinary.

To do this, they resort to some of the design studios and technology in the world.

Here we leave you some of the incredible experiments proposed by studies that can make the technology redefine life in our homes, here we come!

Random Studio

This study has carried out the following series of digital experiments for Space10.

  • Hidden characters : By scanning the furniture in your home with a Tablet you can unleash your inner child.

  • Point & Repair : Can you imagine being able to talk to the objects in your home and have them respond to you if they need something? This experiment allows you to scan an object and find out what maintenance it needs and when to work towards a more sustainable way of living.

  • Home Puzzle: Thanks to this digital experiment you can scan the room you want in your home to create a 3D environment where you can drag and drop the objects you would like to reposition to try different designs.

Amostimioyedeji

Can you imagine that the gesture of your hand spoke to a lamp? Light Gestures has the aim to invite more natural interactions between a person and their smart home, using the lightning as a case study. Timi Oyedeji asks you to imagine shaking your fist at the light in your living room to turn it off, or making a “shh!” towards the smart speaker with your index finger to decrease the volume. In short, introduce technology to receive non-verbal signals from us. Interesting, right?

Room Editor

With this experiment Alonso Holmes + Stromlin There will no longer be a need to move the old dining room table to try a new one. With Room Editor you can “delete” any piece of furniture in your home and then change it for a new one so you can Easily visualize what the new piece of furniture will look like without moving the old one .

Room editor It would allow us to save time, leaving aside the need to make trips to the furniture store. Furthermore, you It would help you imagine in a more “real” way what the furniture would look like in your house .

Technology in homes does not necessarily mean doing something faster. It can simply provide one more way to enjoy our homes (even more).
